Dennis Pratt

Dennis E. Pratt, 58, of Mt. Carmel, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his home following a long, courageous battle with lung cancer, with his family by his side. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Dennis was a local business owner of Golden Touch Auto Detailing. He was of the Baptist faith. Dennis was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, grandfather and a true family man. He was loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathleen Pratt, and his sister, Kathy Buschella.

Dennis is survived by his love, wife, Kathy Thompson Pratt of the home; two sons, Jason Pratt and wife, Kimberly, and Tim Pratt; daughter, Carissa Harkleroad and husband, Brandon all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Shayleigh, Emerson and Ellasyn Pratt; two sisters, Shirley Holmes and husband, Frank, and Peggy Bowman and husband, Ronnie; brother, James Butch Pratt and wife, Dee; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12th from 5-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 8:00 pm with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, October 13th at 11:00 am at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA with Rev. Phil Whittemore officiating. Military rites by American Legion Posts 3/265 and the Virginia National Guard. Family and friends are asked to meet at Hamlett-Dobson at 10:00 am on Saturday, to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Pratt, Tim Pratt, James Butch Pratt, David Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Steve Thompson and Jerry Whittemore. Honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Harkleroad.
