Denver Paul Booher

Denver Paul Booher, 76, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning following a brief illness. He had retired from Holliston Mills in 1995. He was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher until his health no long permitted. Prior to that, he served as a preacher at several different area churches.

Denver was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Flora Booher, two brothers, and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice Staten Booher; son, Tim Booher and wife Teresa; two grandchildren, Uri Booher and wife April and Kody Booher and wife Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylee, and Jaxon Booher; brother, Charles Booher and wife Dorothy; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch, or anytime at the home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch, with Rev. Bob Simpson and Rev. Clifford Dalton officiating.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Bowser, Rick Sexton, Charles Britton, Steve Bowers, Roger Britton, and Clint Penley. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Venable, Bill McAmis, Archie Bowser, and Jim Simpson.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to the Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund; c/o Willie Good; 15295 Kingsport Highway; Chuckey, TN 37641.
