Denver Doran

Denver Doran, 79, went to be with the Lord at his home, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Born in Sullivan County, he had lived in this area all his life. He worked at Allandale Farms for Mr. Brooks then for Crown Cattle/Mason Dixon for E. Ward King. He was the head of Cattle Operations. Denver then retired from Enterprise Tank Cleaning where he was a supervisor. In more recent years, he loved to go to car shows where he showed his IROC. Denver loved his Koi ponds and his cats.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bertha Doran, and 9 brothers and sisters.

Denver is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda DeFreece Doran; daughter, Tina Doran Fowler and husband, Dan; son, Denver Doran, Jr., and wife, Brenda; 3 grandchildren, Seth and Emily Doran, and Ashley Sexton; 2 sisters, Dorothy Caldwell Bass, and Margie Hand; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Paul Wright officiating. The burial will follow in Doran Cemetery.
