D.L. Dock Lloyd Yeary, 93, of Stanley Valley Road, Surgoinsville, TN passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Lee County, VA, and had resided in Surgoinsville since 1962. He was a retired machinist, having worked at Raytheon Corporation and was also a farmer. He was a member of Morrison City Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Barker Yeary; parents, Filmore and Octavia Yeary; daughter, Donna Ree Carroll; son, 2nd Lt. USMC Randall Yeary; sisters, Oza Hamlin, Helen McKinney, Virginia Yeary, Marcella, and Gladys Seabolt; and brother, F. J. Yeary.
He is survived by his daughter, Myra Teague and husband, George of Kingsport; son, Lannis Yeary of Abingdon; grandchildren, special granddaughter and caregiver, Neressa Priskorn and husband, Mike, Rev. Amy Yeary Holmes and husband, Kevin, Bryan Yeary and wife, DeAnna, Darren Teague and wife Cindy, Laura Cornette and husband, Mike, Jason Carroll and wife Kristy, Beth Spivey and husband, Chase; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jo Meyers, Pennington Gap, Emogene Mitchell and husband, Taylor; brother, Jack Yeary and wife Loree; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Bob Underwood, Minister and Rev. Amy Yeary Holmes officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 30, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.
