Don "Buzzard" Chase, 68, Kingsport, died Tuesday evening, April 3, 2012, at his home due to an apparent heart attack.
Don was born in Kingsport where he had lived his entire life. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School and a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Europe. Don was a mechanic having worked at Mason Dixon for thirteen years and then was self-employed at Sullivan Shell for eighteen years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Naomi Chase; and niece, Dee Dee Morrison.
Don is survived by his wife, Evelyn Chase of the home; sisters, Charlotte "Jodi" Ragsdale of Chuckey and Charlene Lowery and husband C. W. of Whitesburg, TN; brother, Kyle Chase and wife Louise of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two special friends, James Langrell and Phil Gaddis.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Posts No. 3/265.
