Donald Edward "Don" Pugh, 72, of Kingsport, went to his eternal resting place Tuesday, July 6, 2010, after a brief illness. Donald served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a salesman in Home Improvements. He was a charter member of The Crossing Golf Course. Don was Man of the Year with the Outstanding Young Men of America.
He enjoyed golf, football, walking, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lillie Pugh.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marylu Pugh; a daughter, Kimberly Pugh Ruth and husband, Craig, of Kingsport; sons, Donald Edward Pugh, Jr., Bristol, TN, and Joey Pugh and wife, Rachel, Johnson City; six grandchildren, Lauren Ruth, Blake Ruth, Nora Pugh, Josie Pugh, Clara Pugh, and Beatrice Pugh; brothers, Richard Pugh, Lynchburg, VA, and Kenneth Pugh, Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Dr. Susan Coleman, Woodbridge, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at VA Mountain Home National Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Posts #3/265.
