Donna I. Gray, 55, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 21, 2013.
She was born February 21, 1958 in Kingsport where she has been a lifelong resident. Donna was a 1976 graduate of Sullivan West High School.
Donna attended West View Baptist Church where she was actively involved. Her work and dedication will be greatly missed. She was a loving mother and Mamaw "D". Her love of art and animals were expressed in how she helped others.
Her father, Robert P. Irvin preceded her in death.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Niki McConnell-Smith and husband Chris of Church Hill and Christy Gray-Robinson and husband Ben of Kingsport; one son, PR3 Russell "Rusty" Lynn McConnell, currently serving overseas in the United State Navy; five grandchildren, Haley, Emma, Alyssa, Bella and Lucas; her mother, Betty J. Irvin of Kingsport; one brother, Robert Paul Irvin, Jr. and wife Melissa of Alabama; one sister, Debbie Irvin McSpadden and husband Steve of Madisonville, TN; and two nieces, Stephanie M. Bivens and husband Josh, and Candice Irvin.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holston View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ben Robinson, Christopher Smith, Dustin Barrett, Steve McSpadden, Paul Irvin and Bill Overbay.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Autism Research Foundation, P. O. Box 30013, Knoxville, TN 37920; or the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
