Doris Evelyn Johnson Blanchard

Doris Evelyn Johnson Blanchard, age 99, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024.

She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, married in 1949, and raised four children. Her love of school led her to become a teacher, and she taught English for many years in Gowanda, New York, before retiring and moving to Kingsport, Tennessee. She is a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church, was active in several fraternal organizations, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, volunteering, and doing puzzles.

Preceded in death by Ed, her husband of 66 years, she is survived by children Carol, Robert, David, and Nancy; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family plans to gather later to celebrate her life and commit her ashes at the church’s columbarium.
