Doris Gunning

Doris K. Gunning, 82, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord and reunite with loved ones on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at approximately 3:00 am at her home. She was a strong and devoted Christian who loved the Lord and her family. Doris was a member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Gunning, Jr.; daughter, Pamela Michelle Gunning; and parents, Claude M. Kilgore and Opal Pauline Arnold Kilgore.

Doris is survived by one grandson, Dustin Patrick Wilcox; granddaughter, Rachael Michelle Wilcox; great-granddaughters, Kaden and Karma, who was the love of her life; aunt, Winnifred Lane of West VA; and special friends, Zelda Carr, Jeanie Jones, Shane Tunnell and the congregation of Oakwood Forest Christian Church.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12-1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Marlin S. Jaynes officiating. Inurnment services will be conducted following the funeral at Gunnings Cemetery with

Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Wilcox, Danny Ward, Lonnie Dykes, Phillip Wilcox and Shane Tunnell.
