Doris Lee Madddux
Doris Maddux of Kingsport passed away Thursday evening, February 5, 2009, at her home after an extended illness.
She was born April 1, 1935, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Doris loved her 39 years as an elementary school teacher. Her grandchildren, Jay and Lauren St. Onge, filled her life with joy.
Her parents, J. D. and Margaret Lee, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, J. R. Maddux; her daughter, Shaun St. Onge; son-in-law, Tim St. Onge; and grandchildren, Jay and Lauren St. Onge of Atlanta, Georgia.
The family would like to send their sincere thanks to the staff members of the church and all their loving friends for their prayers and support during this difficult time and also a sincere thanks to Amedisys Hospice.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Monday at Colonial Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Burton officiating. Family visitation will be after the celebration of life service at the church.
Doris' wishes were to be cremated. Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights Baptist Church, 108 Colonial Heights Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
