Doris Seaver Edwards

Doris Seaver Edwards, 78, passed away peacefully at her home after a battle with cancer on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Born July 29, 1938 in Kingsport, TN, she graduated from Dobyns- Bennett High School in 1956, where she met and married her husband, Reginald Edwards, of 60 years. She attended Carson Newman College until Reggie's military travels took them overseas to Germany and several assignments in the states. She worked for many years as a school secretary. After retirement, they returned to their home state of Tennessee and had lived in the Nashville area for over 33 years. Doris was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and Canada in their RV and spending time in Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Dayton and Rita Seaver; and her brother, Carlton Seaver.

Doris is survived by her husband, Reginald Edwards of Antioch, TN; son, Mark Edwards and wife Amy, and grandchildren, Justin and Rachel; daughter, Leigh Krasnoff and husband Larry, and grandchildren, Natalie and Nathan.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Holston View Cemetery with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating.
