Dorothy Francine Campbell

Dorothy S. Campbell, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord and her husband and son on April 4, 2010, in Berryville, VA.

Mrs. Campbell was born in Cleveland, VA, and moved to Kingsport in 1955. She was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church and the Upper Room Sunday School Class. She loved gardening, mowing, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaines and Mona Snead; her husband, Ollie Campbell; a son, Timmy Campbell; and two brothers and a sister.

Surviving Mrs. Campbell are two sons, Jerry Campbell and wife, Ann, of Raleigh, NC, and Alan Campbell and wife, Karen, of Winchester, VA; seven grandchildren, Matthew Campbell, Jessica McCracken, Amy Creasman, Sebrina Shadler, Jason Campbell, Heather Law, and Alan Kidd; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wylodean, and Peggy; and a brother, Teddy.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at noon, with Rev. Tom Seay officiating and Eulogies by Jim Hall and Gerald Gilbert.

Interment will be at West Hills Cemetery in Lebanon, VA, at 3:00. Great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The Upper Room Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
