Dorothy Jean Clark, 85, went to be with the angels on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a short illness.
Dorothy was born in Van Buren, AR on April 16, 1925 to the late Gene and Dorothy Belle Whitsell. She moved to Kingsport in the late 1950's. She was a stay at home mom and was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Along with her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William Lewis Clark, granddaughter Carrie DeVault and many loved ones.
Survivors include her daughter Sharon King and husband, Dave of Gray; three sons, Tommy Clark and wife, Janice, Jimmy Clark, David Clark and wife, Denise, all of Kingsport; grandsons, Richard Clark, Brian Clark; granddaughters, Pamela Morris, Beth Claybaugh, Amy Lawson; great-grandchildren, Drew Morris, Alyssa Clark, Caroline Claybaugh, Hudson Claybaugh, Sara Jones, Josh Jones; step great-grandson Caleb Bishop; two "special" grandsons, Nathan and Sam Federico.
The family will receive friends from 11 am-1 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral home, Kingsport. The service will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Joe W. Byrd officiating. Graveside services will follow at Ross Campground Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
