Dorothy Elizabeth Cole Collings, 69, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 13, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Kingsport where she had resided her entire life. Dorothy liked to play bingo, was a seamstress, and was a devoted mother. She was of the Protestant faith.
Her husband, Delmas Lyndon Collings; seven brothers; and two sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are a grandson, Daniel Bledsoe, of the home; four daughters, Donna Lynn Davis and husband, Don, Kingsport, Martha Kaye Barger, Kingsport, Lawanda Jackie Tipton and husband, Phil, Weber City, Virginia, Jammia Lucinda Bledsoe, Kingsport; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Ella Crain and husband, James, Peoria, Illinois, Marjorie McKinney, Mt. Grove, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor John A. Hackney, Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian Barger, Jason Tipton, Tracey Tipton, Travis Jackson, Shad Graham, and Kenny Botts.
