Dorothy "Dot" Clonce, 92, Kingsport, passed peacefully to join the love of her life, Robert, who was waiting in their heavenly home on March 15, 2018. She was surrounded by those who loved her most in the world.
Dorothy was a loving and giving person who loved to socialize and be around friends. She truly loved music and dancing her entire life - from a young lady when she taught dance at a studio, to ballroom dancing square dancing and round dancing throughout the many years given to her. She, along with her husband Robert often traveled distances to attend conventions and exhibitions and were recognized for their grace, smooth style and impeccable form.
She loved to seek adventure through travel whether riding a camel in Australia, walking on the Great Wall of China, whitewater rafting or taking a hot air balloon ride. She was always ready to go with her husband or daughter or friends to experience something new or unique. She visited most of the states and many foreign countries. She had a full life with many treasured memories that she enjoyed sharing and was a treasure herself to family and friends. She will be truly missed by all who loved her.
Dorothy most valued her home and family. She was so proud of her only daughter, Terry Stocton and loved her without limits. Terry dearly loved and cherished her mom and was tirelessly devoted to her care. Her son-in-law, Eddie Stocton was more like a son and was always there to do all that he could for his mother-in-law. Other survivors include a brother, Charles Crawford, and most special friends, Joe and Nellie Todd.
The family wishes to thank on Dot's behalf those who did not forget her in the later years, who took time however small from their lives to continue to visit her, send a card, or to make an occasional phone call. It meant so very much to her.
Services were conducted at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home followed by burial at East Lawn Cemetery on Friday, March 16.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer's Association, 2020 Meadowview Pkwy #100, Kingsport, TN 37660.
