Dorothy Hatley, 85, of Kingsport, died Monday night, June 1, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. A native of Kingsport, she had worked at Parks-Belk for many years. Dot was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hatley.
Dot is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hatley Jenkins and husband, Donald of Maryville, TN, and Gina Hatley West and husband, Bobby of Birmingham, AL; sons, Tom Hatley and wife, Michelle of Kingsport and Anthony Hatley and wife Krista of Johnson City; nine grandchildren, Cheyenne Trunnell and husband, Phil, Sarah Jenkins, Austin Hatley, Caroline Jenkins, Sydney Devinney, Kaelin Hatley, Carson West, Mackenzie West and Anderson Hatley; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Trunnell and Samuel Trunnell; sister, Anna Adams and husband, Bill of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Dorothy Trent and Tina Weeks.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 to 1 pm at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. The service will follow at 1 pm with Rev. Mickey Rainwater and Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.
The burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bobby West, Donald Jenkins, Carson West, Anderson Hatley, and Austin Hatley. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam King, Stanford King, and Doug Adams.
