Dorothy Mae Hickam

Dorothy Mae Hickam, 85, wife of the late Samuel Andrew Hickam, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born in Bristol, TN, and a native of Kingsport, TN, she was the daughter of the late Andy Charles and Lily Harkleroad Smith. She was a member of Glenn Wood Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty June Hickam Strong.

Survivors include her son in law, James Ernest Strong of Athens, grandchildren, Amy Rice of Woodstock, Mandy Woodham of Marietta, James Andrew Strong of Cumming, great granddaughters, Beth, Ainsley, Sophie and Zoe as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held November 9th from 5 to 7 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel, Athens, GA, as well as Sunday, November 11th from 5 to 7 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, TN. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, TN, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
