Dorothy "Jo" Jones

Dorothy “Jo” Jones, 86, of Kingsport, went to be with Jesus early Sunday morning, October 11, 2020. Jo was born in Coeburn, VA and lived in Kingsport for most of her life. She was an employee of Kingsport Press but her joy in life was being a wife and mother. Jo never met a stranger and was a caring giver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Jones; and parents, “Doc” and “Dump” Davis of Possum Holler in Coeburn.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Paula Jo Jones and husband Joseph Anthony McDavid; granddaughters, Raegan Taylor McGlothlin Vaughn, Payton Klyne McGlothlin, and Landrey Rhea McGlothlin; two great-grandchildren, Ali Klyne Bowman and Ansley Raegan Vaughn; two sisters, Shelby Garrett Dix and Gail Nixon; brother, Daniel Edgar “Sonny” Davis, Jr. and wife Shelia; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Lawson Cemetery, near Coeburn, VA.

Pallbearers will be family.
