Dorothy Virginia Morley, 90, formally of Kingsport, went home peacefully to be with Jesus on January 15, 2015 at her residence in Florida. She and her husband owned and operated Morley's Roadside Market before moving to Florida in 1969 with their small children. Virginia and her husband, Gordon, owned and operated motels in Florida. She retired from the motel business and real estate business and investments. She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star, past president of Optimist Mrs. of Kingsport, and an active member of the First Christian Church.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon E. Morley, Sr. and her parents, Ed and Virgie Faidley.
She is survived by daughters, Connie Larkins, Charlotte Wright and husband, Harold, and Judith Matthews and husband, Charles; son, Gordon E. Morley, Jr.; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Elizabeth Christian; and brother, Edward Faidley.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie H. Larkins, Sr., Pat Sauer, Justin Sauer, Chip Matthews, Robbie Larkins, and Jim DeBarry. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie H. Larkins, Jr. and Ronnie H. Larkins, III "Trey."
