Dorothy Collette Robinson

Dorothy Beare Collette Robinson, 80, of Kingsport went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (July 23, 2013) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born in Sandy Ridge, VA on October 6, 1932, a daughter of the late Alfred and Rosa Marshall Beare, she had lived in this area most of her life.

Dorothy was a member of Long Island Evangelical Methodist Church, and a former beauty shop owner.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend who loved to cook and be with her family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Pam, Sherry, Wilma, Suzie, Jan, Pastor Jake and Joann Riner and Family and Shephard Watch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Claude Allen "Yogi" Beare; two sisters, Louella Freeman and Sabra Nolan, and two infant sisters, Betty and Florence.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Barney Robinson; her children, Buford Collette Jr., Anita Smallwood, Colleen Allen and husband James and Frankie Collette and wife Michelle all of Kingsport; twelve grandchildren, David and Donna Collette, Michelle and Jonathan Stanton, Jonathan Collette, Ben Mitchell, Stephanie Smallwood, Heather Collette, Yvette Gains, Nicole Pendleton, James "Buddy" Puckett Jr, Adam Allen, Christy Jones and Chaney Collette; twelve great-grandchildren, Conner Collette, Chloe Collette, Emily and Josh Faurot, Simon Mitchell, Cierra Mitchell, Quinesha Collette, Shaneka Ashby, Damircle Ashby, Malokia, Maggie Jones, Madison Jones and AD Jones; one great great granddaughter, Amy Faurot; several nieces and nephews; cousin, Ol' Cuz, Marie Meredith; and her poodle, Angel.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday (July 26, 2013) at Hamlett-Dobson, Downtown and at other hours at the residences of her daughters, Anita and Colleen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday (July 27, 2013) in the chapel with Rev. J. C. "Jake" Riner officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ben Mitchell, James Allen, Adam Allen, David Collette, Conner Collette and Quincy Ashby.
