Dorothy Billheimer Scism, 90, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, September 13, 2015, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Jonesborough, TN, she had resided in Mt. Carmel for 10 years prior to moving to Kingsport in 1942. Mrs. Scism was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and growing flowers. Most of all she enjoyed being around her family.
Mrs. Scism was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Scism, and three sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Dishner of the home, and Patricia Rutherford and husband, Jack, of Blountville; one son, Raymond Scism and wife, Sylvia of Blountville; three grandchildren, Holly Carberry, April Carberry, and Jaron Dishner; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Homer Roller and Rev. Tim Hodges, officiating.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
