Dorothy "Dot" Crawford Shipley, 62, of the Beech Creek Community, Rogersville, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, July 1, 2012, at her home due to an apparent heart attack.
Dot was born in Kingsport and had resided in Beech Creek her entire life. She was a member of Solomon Temple. Dot loved to play bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Shipley 2006; her parents Clifford and Goldie Crawford; and one brother, Clifford Crawford.
Survivors include two sons, Tim Shipley and wife Tabitha of Rogersville and Bill Shipley of Kingsport; nine grandchildren, including, Cody, Harley and Dilan; two sisters, Patsy Mullins and Diana Dykes, both of Kingsport; three brothers, Jerry Crawford, Dennis Crawford, and James Crawford, all of Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday July 4th at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Services will follow at 8 p.m. at the Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Chip McLain officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday July 5th at Light Cemetery in Beech Creek. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
