Dorothy Jean "Ruby" Barrett Simpson, was born August 10, 1943, and died Wednesday, September 3, 2008.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jody Simpson; her husband, Jack Simpson; and a special friend for over 30 years, Jerry Simpson all of Beech Creek.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mohamed Sharief of North Dakota; three grandchildren, Stephon, Nicholas, and Samantha, all of North Dakota; special step-grandchildren, John and Jessica Hensley of Mosheim; one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Judy Barrett of Kingsport; two sisters-in-law, Buena Morelock and Wanda Ferguson; one uncle, Bruce Greathouse and wife Liz of Texas; a great-uncle, Billie Harless and wife, Alice of Sebastian, Florida; a special niece, Annie Morelock; a special great-niece, Amanda Morelock; a special great-nephew, Jason Morelock; a special great-great-nephew, Keenan Welhelm, all of Rogersville; special friends and caregivers, Ruth and Billy Hensley with whom she stayed in Mosheim; and special friends, Mary Jane Fields of Stanley Valley and Nadine Morelock of Beech Creek.
There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Zion Cemetery in Baileyton with Rev. Kenneth Thacker officiating. Pallbearers will be John Hensley, Jason Morelock, and Johnny Ferguson.
