Dorothy Dot B. Wright, 89, of Kingsport, was called to be with her Lord late Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Kingsport. Dot was born in South Carolina and had resided in Kingsport for 85 years. She was a secretary, having worked for Tennessee Eastman and later served as church secretary at First Presbyterian Church and Calvary Baptist Church. Dot was an active and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Wright; brothers, Clarence L. Jones and James L. Ballard, Jr.; and sister, Maxine B. McDavid.
She is survived by her son, Jim Wright and wife, Darryl, of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Justin and wife, Elizabeth, Jay, Joshua and Jake; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Justin Wright, Jay Wright, Joshua Wright, Jake Wright and Jim Sipe. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie McDavid and Mike McDavid.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 15, from 6-7:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Donnie C. Brannen officiating.
A graveside service will be held Friday, November 16, at 12:00 noon at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
