Dottie McKenna

Dottie McKenna, 76, formerly of Middletown, CT, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2009 at her home in Kingsport, TN. Having lived most of her life in Connecticut, she moved to Kingsport in 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed the southern hospitality. She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women's Auxiliary in Middletown, CT.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Bourez; and sister Lorraine Dunn.

Dottie is survived by her daughters, Linda Eckola and husband David of East Hampton, CT, and Carla Rogers and husband David of Kingsport; son David Bourez and wife Michelle of Chester, CT; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Tirrell and Arthur Tirrell, both of Deep River, CT, special niece, Laura Orzel; and several other nieces and nephews.

A gathering in honor of Dottie's memory will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Pinebrook Place Community Center in Kingsport, TN. Light refreshments will be provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society; 1217 Radcliffe Avenue; Kingsport, TN 37664.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Hope Women's Cancer Center, Dr. Ron Hunter, and Amedisys Hospice.
