Douglas Randolph Scott, 74, of Gray, TN, died Tuesday night, October 30, 2012 at his home while surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Born in Lively, VA, Doug had resided in Kingsport most of his life, having lived in Gray for the last 20 years. He worked at Holston Defense for 31 years and retired in 1991.
Doug enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and target practice.
His mother, Elizabeth Barrineau preceded him in death.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patsy Jean Mull Scott of the home; two sons, Douglas Randolph "Randy" Scott, Jr. and wife Darla of Piney Flats, and Rob Scott and wife Rhonda of Gray; five grandchildren, Rachael, Robbie, Matthew, Kelly, and Reed; special aunt, Louise Wilson several cousins and sisters-in-law; and special friend, Michael Lucash.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with James Hulse officiating. Music will be provided by Diane Cain.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Scott, Matthew Scott, Reed Scott, Charlie Jones, Jeff Bushong, Michael Lucash, and Travis Cain.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Lauer, Tom Smalling, Don Ellington, Bobby Cain, Gale Bishop, and Don Bentley.
