Douglas Troy Anders

Doug Anders, 44, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family and friends following a brief illness. Mr. Anders was a graduate of Sullivan South High School, class of 1983, and had worked at American Water Heaters in Johnson City for the past 16 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He attended Visions Freewill Baptist Church. Doug was a soft-spoken and gentle spirit to all who knew him.

Doug was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Anders, and a sister, Shonna Anders. He is survived by a daughter, Ashley Anders; his parents, Virgil and Helen Anders; a sister, Lori Fish and husband, Eddie, all of Kingsport; a brother, Tony Anders and wife, Susan, of St. Marys GA; and several nieces.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00, with Pastor Chad Riner and Pam Rose officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3 & 265. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
