Douglas A. Mancabelli, 81, of Blountville, TN, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Born in Syracuse, NY, Douglas was a sporting goods salesman and a member of the American Legion. He was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly Notre Dame Women’s and Men’s Sports, and enjoyed coaching baseball from Little League to college summer league. Douglas was very musically talented and played the saxophone professionally. He was enthusiastic about everything he did and had a wonderful sense of humor to the very end. Douglas loved his friends and his family, always wanting to know what everyone was up to, and held everyone close.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Virginia Mancabelli; and nephew, Michael Korszeniewski.

Douglas is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Mancabelli; children, Anthony “AJ” Mancabelli (Christina), Teresa Mancabelli, and Deana Peter (Tim); stepchildren, Russell Thompson (Eva) and Steven Thompson (Emily); twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Dorothy Ann Korszeniewski (Louis); and nephew, Matthew Korszeniewski (Dawn).

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Father David L. Bridges will lead us in prayer following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home No Kill Animal Shelter, 2061 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617.
