Keith Wampler, 48, passed away unexpectedly at Laughlin Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 21, 2009. He was raised in Newport News, VA, and spent most of his adult life in Kingsport and Greeneville. He graduated from Ketron High School, where he excelled in the Art Department. He was employed at DTR.
Keith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He leaves an amazing legacy behind.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Josie. Keith leaves five children, Adam, Andrew, Amber, Evan and wife Leah, Zachary and wife Priscilla. He also leaves two grandchildren, his pride and joy, Ayla and Noah.
Keith is also survived by his parents, Doug and Faye Wampler; mother-in-law, Daphne Conkin, a sister, Penny Hawk and husband Van; a brother, Brandon and wife Marcie; special sons Shane Winters, Josh Hensley, and Josh Shaffer; several nieces and nephews whom he truly loved; and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 100 Cannongate Road, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., with President Jim Kenney officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Morning Star Cemetery, with President Jim Kenney officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Wampler, Adam Wampler, Andrew Wampler, Evan Wampler, Zachary Wampler, and Shane Winters. Honorary pallbearers will be John Price, Randy Kiss, Rae Richardson, Van Hawk, Bill Wampler, and Clair Hixson.
