Doyle Thomas Grogg

Doyle Thomas Grogg, 70, Kingsport, passed away from this life on Friday, October 25, 2013, due to complications from an extended illness.

Born in Sullivan County, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Doyle worked at Dobyns Taylor for 10 years, Anderson Ford for 10 years and retired from Grogg's Insurance Agency (Nationwide Insurance) on January 31, 2013, after 31 years of service. He loved to play his guitars and banjos as a past time and would love to go fishing when he was able. He also loved the Lord with all his heart and loved to read the word.

He was preceded in death by wife, Connie Malone Grogg; his mother, Beaulah Mae Grogg and father, Thomas Andrew Grogg.

Doyle is survived by his three daughters, Nikki Schaefer and husband, Sam, Kingsport, Carla Wagers and husband, Jeff, Kingsport, and Marla McLeod and husband, Scott, Daphne, AL; five grandchildren, Megan Grogg, Andrew Banner McLeod, Tiffany Wagers, Alexis Harville, and McKenzie McLeod; brother, Fred Grogg and wife, Betty; three sisters, Mildred Carter and husband, William, Sue Crawford, and Hope Grogg; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor David M. Peters and Bro. Jonathan Peters officiating. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Wagers, Scott McLeod, Banner McLeod, Stan Hunt, Randy Hurd, Gerald Hurd, Bryan McMillan, Andy Cody, Chris Cody, and Bucky Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be William Carter and Verlin Grogg.
