Dr. Chirag N. Shah, 46, of Johnson City, fell asleep on November 30, 2011 and went to be with the Lord forever. Dr. Shah graduated from Powell Valley High School and the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, VA. He received his M.D. Degree from Eastern Virginia Medical College in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Shah was board certified in family practice, with his practice located in Newport News, VA. He relocated to Johnson City to work and settle near his parents. He was a devoted Christian, carrying his bible at all times and looking forward to the Rapture.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ila Shah.
Dr. Shah is survived by his father, Dr. Nalin Shah, Allergist at Status Allergy Clinic in Kingsport, TN, his mom, Peggy Shah; sister, Neesha Hetcher and husband, Steven of Nashville, TN; brother, Cliff Franklin & wife, Tamra; niece, Sommer Alexis Franklin; several uncles, aunts and cousins all over the world.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 4, from 6-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
