Dr. Keith H. Byrd

Dr. Keith H. Byrd, of Kingsport, TN, passed away January 26, 2016. He was a graduate of Berea College and the University of Louisville, where he completed a medical degree. He served two years as a captain in the Air Force. Dr. Byrd worked for many years as a physician in the Emergency Department at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Jack Byrd and wife, Pauline.

Dr. Byrd is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Stephanie Byrd (David Smith), Deborah Byrd, and Dr. Christopher Byrd; sisters, Karen Bradshaw (Dr. John W. Bradshaw) and Kathy Byrd; and several nieces and nephews.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the physicians, nurses and staff at Holston Valley Medical Center Emergency Department and Johnson City Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3-6:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military Rites will be by American Legion Posts 3/265.
