Earl McCracken, 80, of Kingsport, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015. He was born in Appalachia, VA and had lived in Kingsport for over 60 years. Earl retired from Mead Paper in 1999. He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church in Bloomingdale. Earl was an avid fisherman and an accomplished wood worker.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Herman and Della May McCracken; wife, Peggy F. McCracken; and sisters, Eula Ragland and Mable Parsons.
He is survived by his special friend, Ruth Clawson; son, Michael McCracken of Kingsport; grandchildren, Khrysthene McCracken of Roswell, GA, Christopher McCracken, of Phenix City, AL, and Aerabella (Bella) McCracken; sisters, Eunice Davis of Fall Branch, TN and Margie Williams of Lakeland, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Adam Love officiating.
The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap. Those wishing to attend the service should gather at the cemetery at 12:45 pm.
