Earl Ronnie Nelson

Earl Ronnie Nelson, 66, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at his residence. Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Carrie Nelson; sisters Ilene and Ruby; and a brother, Bobby Joe.

Earl is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean Nelson; daughters, Sylvia Cole and husband, Sam, and Tonya Hoffman and husband, Frank; sons, Earl Nelson, Jr., and wife, Colleen, Rick Nelson and wife, Sonya, Billy Nelson and wife, Sharon, and Terry Nelson and wife, Lisa; eighteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Fransola Morelock and husband, Bud, and Unavee Jackson; brothers, J. W. Nelson and wife, Rosa, and Brady Nelson; and brother-in-law, David Shelton.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes. Services will follow at 8:00, with Dr. Bobby Bernard officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
