Ed Feagins, 88, of Kingsport, died on Tuesday afternoon, July 31, 2012. Ed was a native of Church Hill and resided most of his life in Kingsport. He was a graduate of Church Hill High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the 36th Texas Infantry Division. Ed was a Veteran of World War II having been awarded a Purple Heart. He fought in Italy, France and Germany. Following the war Ed attended and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. He retired from Eastman Kodak following 36 years of service as a chemist in the Research Laboratories. Ed was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Lee and father, Marvin Feagins; and two sisters, Sandra Potts and Barbara Peavler.
Ed is survived by his wife, Becky Feagins of Kingsport; daughter, Kathy Lee Feagins of Johnson City, TN; two sons, Ray Feagins and wife, Kathy Jo of Bristol, TN, and Bob Feagins and wife, Laura of Kingsport; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ken, Glen and Marvin Feagins; two sisters, Joann Guthrie and Velma Wilson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Reny Higgs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 3rd from 11am-1:00pm at Mafair United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Kim Goddard officiating.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Glen Feagins, Marvin Feagins, Michael Peavler, Terry Feagins, Lynn Feagins, Glenn Feagins, Bob Dade and Eric Rowe.
