George Edward “Eddie” Taylor Jr., 65, of Blountville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health.  Born in Norton, VA on August 20, 1953, a son of the late Adam Taylor and Dorothy Ann Chaffin, Blountville, he had resided in this area most of his life.  He graduated from John S. Battle High School in 1972 and later received a B.S. in Accounting.  He retired from FedEx in 2003 after 30+ years of service.  Eddie was a musician (drummer), a U.T. fan and had yearly achievements at FedEx.  He had a sense of humor that was beyond compare.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth (Libby) Taylor Blizard.

Eddie is survived by the mother of his children, Kimberly Taylor Ballard of Bristol, VA; daughter, Kori Taylor of Blountville; son, Dale W. Taylor of Blountville; 2 grandchildren, KimberLynn Meadows and Cadence Meadows; mother, Dorothy Ann Chaffin Taylor; brother, Mike Taylor of Blountville; niece, Laura Blizard McMillan; and his 2 dogs, Roy and Millie Mouse.

The family will receive friends from 1-5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Combs, Corky Brownlee, Jimmy Pope, Dan Dunlap, Richard Blankenbeckler, David Plemmons and David Blizard.
