Eddie L. White of Kingsport went to be with his Lord Sunday, August 19, 2007, after a brief illness.
He retired from Eastman Chemical Company, was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the Tennessee National Guard.
Eddie loved bluegrass music and westerns.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Teddy White; his father-in-law, Tom Browder; and music companions, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash.
Surviving are his wife, Martha White, Kingsport; two sons, John White and wife, Melinda and their children, Haley and Allison, Kingsport; Jason White and wife, Kristi and their children, Drew and Riley, Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Shirley Davis and Thelma Snapp; one brother, Bobby White; a brother-in-law, Marty Browder and wife, Alice, and children, Charlie, Susannah, Jack, and Sam; his mother-in-law, Mary Alice Browder; aunt, Mayme Pecktol and other aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. A. Clark Jenkins, Rev. John Brewster, and Rev. Jerry Jones officiating.
