Edith L. Douglas Carroll, 76, of Rock Springs, died at 8 pm Monday evening, February 21, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Edith lived in the Rock Springs Community for most of her life and was a graduate of Sullivan High School. A former employee of the Kingsport Press, Edith was a wonderful homemaker and devoted Christian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Inez and Thomas Douglas and a daughter, Linda Adams.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby J. Carroll of the home, son Ronnie Carroll and wife, Patsy of Blountville; three grand children, Brandon Carroll and wife, Ashley, Wesley Larkins, Kristen Larkins; three great-grandchildren, Landon and Aidan Carroll, Hunter Roberts; sisters, Gladys Collins of Cleveland, OH, Geneva Bullis of Kingsport; brothers, Donald Douglas of Kingsport and Edward Douglas and wife, Lillie of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will begin at 7 pm with Elder Scott Tipton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wesley Larkins, Brandon Carroll, Barry Jones, Joe Selby, Ronnie Bledsoe and Roger Armstrong.
