Edith Marie Crawford, 88, of Church Hill went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 4, 2009.
She was born in Sullivan Co. and resided most of her life in Walkers Fork Community. She was a member of Solomons Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
Edith was a wonderful lady who was dearly loved by everyone and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, James Wesley and Callie Crawford; husband, Ellis Crawford; son, Wallace Jack Crawford; grandson, Timmy Crawford; brothers, Herbert Crawford, James Wesley Crawford Jr., and Carl Crawford.
She is survived by five daughters, Barbara Jackson and Jack Thompson of Kingsport, Alice Mullins and husband Benny of Kingston, Kathy Crawford of Church Hill, Janice Ewing of Church Hill and Judy Crawford of Oak Ridge; son, Ellis I. Crawford Jr. and wife Judy of Baileyton; ten grandchildren, Joey Crawford, Jackee Duggan, Dusty Crawford, Nikki Crawford, Tammy Givens, Wendy Harrison, Ryan Mullins, Rachel Mullins, Jonathan Ewing, and Lauren Ewing; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mary Light and Louise Simpson both of Kingsport; two brothers, Rev. John Crawford and wife Callie, and Earl Crawford and wife Zella both of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Family would like to thank the staff of Church Hill Health Care especially to Mary Jane and Geneva for their love and care.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral Services will follow in the chapel with Dr. Tim Perry officiating. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Walker's Fork Cemetery.
