Edith Land, 90, died Monday morning, June 25, 2012, at her home after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Edith retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 40 years of service. She had been a very active member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. Land, parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Edith is survived by daughter, Sandy Knefel and husband, Bob of Kingsport; granddaughter, Kimberly Lawson and husband, Tommy; three very special great-grandsons, Keegan, Kaden and Kamien Lawson; and several very special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 27th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Raymond Amos officiating. Music will be provided by John Dixon.
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, June 28th at 11:00 am at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service can meet at the cemetery.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to caregivers, Janie Dixon, Teresa Golden, Beth Keys, Delilah Gillenwater and Harriett Reynolds. They would also like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their care and support.
