Edith Depew Lawson

Edith Depew Lawson, 93, of Kingsport passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Indian Path Medical Center after a short illness. Born on September 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Rosa Depew. She was an active and loyal member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church for 65 years. Edith is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Howard Lawson in 2006.

Survivors include two daughters Joyce Byington and husband Omer, Carolyn Nash and husband Dave; son Johnny Lawson and wife Glenda; five grandchildren Debbie Mayberry and husband Dale, Stephen Byington and wife, Shelley, Jonathan Nash and wife Leah, Nathan Nash and wife Anne, Amy Williams and husband Greg; five great-grandchildren Sarah and David Mayberry, Nolan and Ellie Nash, Allie Williams and two step great-grandchildren Lane and Clay Thacker.

The family will receive friends from 10am-11am on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church, 1421 Old Gibson Mill Road. Services will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Jim Fields officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ladies Group (IMW) at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church, 1421 Old Gibson Mill Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
