Edith Nadine Kindle Lee, 78, of Kingsport, died Friday, March 18, 2011.
She was born January 23, 1933 in Appalachia, VA and in her early years she had worked at Eastman Chemical Company before becoming a homemaker.
Mrs. Lee was a member of Mount Vernon Independent Methodist Church in Kingsport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith Miller Kindle and Carlin D. Kindle; her grandson, Joseph Luke Arwood; her granddaughter, April L. Dorton; and her brothers, Carlin D. C.D. Kindle, Broades Kindle, and Dalles Kindle.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Lewis Grady Lee; son, Carlin David Lee, both of Kingsport; daughter, Kimberly Michael Dorton of Duffield, VA; grandsons, Jacob Lee Arwood and Christopher Kayla Dorton all of Duffield, VA; her brother, Otis Kindle of Kingsport; her sister, Shelby Spivey Douglass of Oak Ridge, TN; aunt, Edna Kindle of Kingsport; and sisters-in-law, Betty Kindle of Church Hill, Evelyn Lee and Gerri Lee, both of Kingsport. She is also survived by loving friends, Lee Ann Lewis and Donna Stacy; many loved nieces and nephews; her church family; and many other precious friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Dr. Jim Manis of Kingsport Methodist Church and Dr. Gale Hartley of First Baptist Church, Jamestown, TN, officiating. Music will be provided by Tammy Smith, Linda Horne and Dan Odom.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jed Seaver, Charles Renner, Richard Fleming, Mike Dorton, Freddy Adkins, and Darby Kindle. Honorary pallbearers will be James Akers, Paul Arwood, Robbie Cain, Randy Compton, Cody Seaver, Craig Seaver, Ethan Seaver, James Weston, and Kenny Stallard.
