Edith Ileene Parker, 79, of Jearldstown, died Wednesday morning at her home after a brief ilness that she fought bravely. She had been a member of Jearldstown United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Parker was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. She was an avid lover of animals and had a special love for her cat, "Jelly".
Mrs. Parker was the widow of the late Eugene "Gene" Parker and the daughter of the late W.M. "Will" and Romania Bolton. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Bolton and Leon Bolton.
She is survived by five sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Bobby Lucas of the home, Stella and Don Wilcox of Afton, Fawn and Grady Woods of Ford Towne, Marie and John L. Charlton of Fall Branch, and Mary K. McMackin, also of Fall Branch; nieces and nephews, Pam Shaw Richards, Penny Shaw McCamy, Stacy Shaw, Donna Wilcox Lowe, Lisa Wilcox Matherly, Sheila Wilcox Hyatt, Angie Wilcox Weems, Jeffery Charlton, Joey Charlton, Jennifer Charlton Ford, Timmy Bolton, Lynn Bolton, David Bolton, Brian Bolton, Bobby Woods, Sue Walton, Tammy Bolton Gass, Patricia Bolton Dye, Donna Lee Bolton Davenport, Jim Bolton, and Ben Bolton; great-nephew, Justin Shaw; great-niece, Sierra Shaw; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews including a very special great-nephew, Tanner Shaw.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Bowers officiating.
Interment will be on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tanner Shaw, Jim Richards, Timmy Bolton, Jeffery Charlton, Joey Charlton, and Donnie McCamy. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Caris Hospice and Dr. Thomas Beckner.
