Edna Ileen Chase Culbertson, 81, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Wexford House.
She was born in Petros, Tennessee, married the late William Basil Chase, and moved to Kingsport where she lived most of her life. Mrs. Culbertson was a homemaker and a member of Holy Mountain Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Tom and Eva Brown; her husband, Jasper Malone; a brother, David Clay Brown; and two stepdaughters, Shirley Baker and Imogene Culbertson.
Surviving are her husband, Arnold Culbertson of Kingsport; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda Chase Lemons and Randy Lemons of Kingsport, Brenda Chase Frost, Kingsport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny E. and Kay Chase, Andersonville, TN and Keith L. and Sherry Chase of Kingsport; four stepsons, Irvin and Kenneth of Monroe, Michigan, and mark and Brian of Nickelsville, VA; seven grandchildren, Kevin Chase, Kristen Chase Manuel, Jennifer Crawford, Stephanie Harmon, Travis Chase, Tabitha Hart, and April Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sadie Harris of Oliver Springs, TN, Imogene Bartley of Knoxville , TN; one sister-in-law, Joyce Brown of Oliver Springs, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Musick, Rev. Michael Wrye, and Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Members of Holy Mountain Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
