Edna Rhea Woods

Edna Woods, 66, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, August 7, 2013 at her residence. She was a housewife and worked for 20 years at Wexford House in the kitchen as a dietician. Edna was of the Pentecostal Faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Edna loved her granddaughters and grandson dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter and daughter-in-law.

Edna is survived by her husband, Rev. John Allan Woods of Kingsport; daughter, Amy Hiner of Kingport; three sons, James Woods and girlfriend, Donna Shipley of Kingsport, Michael Woods of Mt. Carmel, and Phillip Woods and wife, Nicole of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Jessica, Heather and Valeria DeFreece, and Logan Shipley; brother, Buford Rhea and wife, Debbie of Kingsport; first cousin who was like a brother, Earl Carter of Kingsport; honorary daughter, Quata Hammonds and boyfriend, Scotty Tolley of Kingsport; special friend, Jean Cody of Kingsport; niece, Monica Collins and husband, Brian; and nephew, Bobby Rhea and wife, Becky.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Jim Hill, Rev. Joe Durant and Rev. Raymond Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow at Ross Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Phillips Woods, Jimmy Stewart, Bobby Rhea, Michael Woods, Junior Woods and Scotty Tolley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Peacemakers M.C. of Tennessee.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Nurse, Susanna.
