Edward "Buck" Gilmore, 90, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Wexford House.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his two sons, Margaret Gilmore; parents, Franklin and Mary Gilmore; brothers, Sam, Jake, Clayton, Tom and Robert; sister, Lou; and granddaughter, Paula Shipley.
Buck is survived by his wife, Edna Gilmore; two sons, Gary G. Gilmore and wife, Diane of Kingsport and Mark Gilmore and wife, Karen of North Carolina; two step-daughters, Wanda Smith and husband, Jerry of Kingsport and Wilma Coffey and husband, Bruce of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Josh Gilmore, Sara Gilmore, Chris and Barry Coffey; two great-grandchildren, McKena Gilmore and Kayla England; brother, Madison Gilmore of Gray; sister, Geneva McAvoy of Church Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 3rd from 2-4:00 p.m. at Springdale Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Alan Buckles officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, February 4th at 1:00 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265. Pallbearers will be American Legion members.
