Bruce Ham, 75, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord at 2:07 a.m. Sunday December 30, 2007 at Life Care Center, Gray, TN.
Born in Ashe County, NC, he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Bruce had lived in the Tri-Cities area for the past 32 years and was owner/operator of a number of furniture stores in the area.
He was a Presbyterian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Wade Ham.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy McDavid Ham, Kingsport; four daughters, Lisa Barker, Karen Ham, Teresa Wingler, Ashe County, NC, and Patricia Peters, PA; three sons, Randy Ham, Eddie Ham, and Rodney Ham, all of Ashe County, NC; two stepdaughters, Tina Graham, Gate City, VA, and Tamra Dennison, Gray, TN; two stepsons, Bryan Williams and Brad Williams, both of Kingsport; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Martin, Winston-Salem, NC, Valerie Parker, Ashe County, NC, and Selma Privett, MD; and one brother, Gale Ham, Ashe County, NC.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Douglas Hardin officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #3/265.
