Effie Light

Effie "Maw" Light, 92, of Chuckey passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 and went home to be with Jesus at Indian Path Medical Center.

She attended Chimney Top Freewill Baptist Church. Effie loved making afghans, gardening, flowers and canning. She loved her Lord, children, step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters.

Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Light; parents, Enos and Fannie Littleton; and three brothers.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Wallen and wife, Ruth of Kingsport; daughter, Ruby Jackson and husband, Archie of Chuckey; four step-daughters, Linda Higgins of Fall Branch , Joann Estepp of Greeneville, Cathy Early of Chuckey and Connie Brown of Chuckey; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Littleton and Ray Littleton, both of Kingsport; sisters, Marie Honeycutt of Kingsport, Madeline Depew of Fall Branch and Betty Morelock of Rogersville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 with Rev. Barry Reed, Pastor Lewis Mead and Brother Danny Dolen officiating. Honorary Minister, Rev. Orville Dolen.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Jackson, Bo Jackson, Scott Jackson, Kenny Higgins, Jeffrey Wallen and Chance Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
