Egbert E. Lewis, 88, of Kingsport died Monday, December 31, 2007, at Life Care Center of Gray.
He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, served in the U. S. Army during World War II in Europe, retired from Tennessee Eastman Company, and was a member of Warriors Path Volunteer Fire Department. Ed loved woodworking and farming.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Martha Lochiel Lewis; two brothers, Dave and John Lewis; and one sister, Opal Moody.
Surviving are one son, Bob Lewis and wife, Diane of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Heather Murrell and husband, Mike of Knoxville, Robby Lewis of Kingsport, Angie O?Neal of Kingsport; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Charles Echols officiating and military rites by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of VFW.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robby Lewis, Mike Murrell, and nephews.
