Elbert F. Ebb Milburn, 90, of Jearoldstown Community, died June 22, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on November 23, 1918 in Greene County. He was a member of Jearoldstown United Methodist Church and Johnson Masonic Lodge #247 of Fall Branch. Mr. Milburn was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was also retired from Eastman Kodak.
Mr. Milburn was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Mildred Lucas Milburn; a daughter, Judy Charlton; parents, William R. and Bessie D. Armentrout Milburn; two brothers, Johnny Milburn and Leslie Milburn; and three sisters, Sue Milburn, Mattie Milburn, and Freddie Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Iva Nell Hooker Milburn of the home; a daughter, Brenda Sue Hyatt of Kingsport; three grandsons, Mark Hyatt and wife Dawn, Stacy Charlton, and Kip Charlton and wife Leah; two great-granddaughters, April Fitzwater and husband Jack and Ashley Hyatt; one great-grandson, Seth Charlton, one great-great-grandson, Casey Fitzwater; sister, June Hensley of Limestone; brother, Rev. Glenn "Bob" Milburn of Afton; son-in-law, Billy Charlton of Fall Branch; sister-in-law, Geneva Milburn of Limestone; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Bowers and Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Milburnton Community Cemetery in Limestone. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Tate, Randall Dickerson, Ray Milligan, Bob Light, John Fox and James Keys.
